Mike de Velta

Australian Blues, Folk and Roots Artist

Kevin Borich, Graham Greene & Mike de Velta Live at the Charles Hotel

Decibel Events and Guitar Gods present

KEVIN BORICH EXPRESS
Decibel Events Press Release

For strictly two exclusive performances, the Borich machine screams into town on August 19 and 20, sure to render the audience captive without escape and on hand to witness the carnage of anti-matter left in the wake of this three piece juggernaut that includes Harry Brus on bass.

Joining in on the action this time around will be two of the finest Western Australian Guitar Gods, Graham Greene – with his mastery of technique, rock solid grooves laced with soaring guitar wizardry, and the ever refined Dom Mariani, the rock and roll stylist whose career has been a resplendent one in the creative stakes – a master and innovator of song and guitar on a melodious boulevard that has never faltered from distinction.

Crowds that turn up for Kevin Borich performances are a mixture of generations and attitudes that are left meditative on how three performers can create such an inescapable sound of electrifying rock.

Kevin Borich is a man with 40 years of professional experience behind him; a man who opened for AC/DC, a man who has been casually invited onstage to jam with Santana on more than one occasion; a man who has shared the stage with Bo Didley, Richie Blackmore (Deep Purple), Ron Wood (Rolling Stones), John Mayall, Taj Mahal, Living Colour, Joe Walsh and has opened shows for AC/DC in the USA, Toni Joe White, Ray Charles, Elton John, Status Quo, Jeff Beck and Buddy Guy and a man who topped the Australian Rock Music Awards twice as Best Guitarist.

Over his long career there has been an inspiring honesty and dedication about Kevin. He’s remained true to his understanding of rock’s founding principles and his commitment to live performance. When he plugs in, he roars and nobody in the room is left unaffected.

Kevin Borich Express performs at The Charles Hotel 19 August with our local Guitar Gods, Graham Greene, and Saturday 20 August with Dom Mariani and Datura at The Fly by Night Musician Club in Fremantle.

Episode 6 – For the love of it

Slide  on an acoustic guitar, synthesized bells and an electric bass, a mysterious piece. One of those  compositions that seemed to have it’s own destiny and almost created  itself. I just went along for the ride. Most rewarding.

Doorstep to my heart

Doorstep to my heart – an instrumental played on a modified 12 string guitar in lap position with a slide. The tuning is open C#m and allows for those haunting mellow tones to resonate deeply and elevate the human spirit to that beautiful other place.
