The Mountain Song
This song is dedicated to those who live life on the edge and especially to those who love climbing mountains!
The footage was from a trip my wife an I took to South Island in NZ a couple of years ago. The Mountain you see is Mt Cook.
The Bungee was from the notorious Ben Nevis, one of the highest in the world.

All these words
I’ve probably spent a year on this track and it finally came together when I considered using a 12 string guitar to really tighten up the rhythm section. I think this one gelled pretty well. It was recorded in my home studio in a very small bedroom but using some pretty nice hardware.
Thanks to Dean Wuksta for his awesome drumming.
You’re my Woman

DADGAD tuning Norwegian Wood Beatles Cover
A new interpretation of a the Beatles classic, Norwegian Wood. Sung and played fingerstyle on acoustic guitar with DADGAD tuning. Ornamentation with string sections, sitar, tabla, darabuka and bass. Deep resonate tones, indian styled embellishments and phrasing.
Doorstep to my heart
Doorstep to my heart – an instrumental played on a modified 12 string guitar in lap position with a slide. The tuning is open C#m and allows for those haunting mellow tones to resonate deeply and elevate the human spirit to that beautiful other place.
Instrumental w Oud, Dobro, Les Paul, Rickenbacker Lap Slide & more…
Belly Dancer – Episode 2 of the Forays into the Esoteric Podcast from Mike de Velta.
Featuring lap slide, 53 les paul gold top, fernandes stratocaster, oud, sitar, dobro, bass and drums played Dean Wuksta. When I composed this I tried to think of all the tones that excited me in my travels to India and North Africa. This tune is a hybrid if you like, a western interpretation.
This Great Love
An original soft spiritual to console the soul. Played on a steel bodied dobro with slide.
Ukulele Magic, a Sonata
A new composition titled, Ukulele Sonata, inspired by the possibilities of alternate finger picking on a soprano ukulele, especially with the top string being strung an octave higher it almost has an upside down effect and stimulates the ear into thinking there is a whole lot more going on.
You tube description
An original gentle finger-style instrumental titled, “Ukulele Sonata” played on a Soprano Kamaka Ukulele by multi instrumentalist and recording artist Mike de Velta.
The delicate tones of this outstanding instrument are captured through a Great River preamp and a Rode K2 specifically in mono for youtube.
Processing done with Pro tools 7.4, Sonnox Eq, PSP Vintage Warmer, Massey Limiter and Lexicon Reverb
I hope you enjoy it, please comment if you do, I would love to hear from you.
Live on Radio ABC 720
Live at the Perth ABC 720 studios performing, “I don’t mind at all” with James Lush’s Breakfast Show. Also on the show I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with Ricky Grace formerly of the Perth Wildcats and Dale a chef who showed us how to cook the perfect omelet, divine. It was quite an atmosphere with the aroma and sizzle of eggs entwined with the sweet rapport of fun, music and pleasant conversation. A most enjoyable Saturday morning. This is a lofi audio recording captured on Panasonic NV-GS400 camcorder in 16:9 ratio.
